Custom rattan production is not a catalogue order with a logo added. Dimensions, weaving pattern, colour, lining, leather accents and packaging are all adjustable, and complete OEM and private label projects are produced from buyers' own drawings and specifications. That flexibility is the point, and it is also where projects derail when the brief is thin.
The sequence
1. Brief
What the product has to do, what goes inside it, the market it ships to, and the quantity. A photograph or sketch beats a paragraph. Dimensions can be worked back from the contents if you do not have them yet.
2. Quotation
A binding price against the specification, replacing the catalogue reference figures. Catalogue prices assume USD 1 = IDR 18,000 and are indicative only; final pricing depends on specification, customisation, quantity, packaging and exchange rate.
3. Sample
A physical sample made to your brief, so approval happens against the real basket rather than a photograph. This is the step to use properly: check the interior, the base when empty, the rim under load, and the colour under your own lighting.
4. Production
2 to 4 weeks from approved sample and confirmed order, depending on volume and finish. Production runs through dedicated artisan workshops with raw materials supplied centrally and every stage monitored to one standard. Weekly status updates are provided so progress is visible rather than assumed.
5. Inspection, packing, shipment
Finished goods return to a central warehouse for final inspection, finishing, quality control, packing and shipment. Shipping insurance is included until the goods reach your country, and Letter of Credit is accepted so payment releases only once goods ship and documents are provided.

Where custom projects go wrong
Approving a sample against the wrong criteria. Buyers check the look and forget the function. If the basket will sit empty on a shelf, test it empty. If it will be carried loaded, load it.
Leaving the interior unspecified. A basket that will be seen open needs an interior decision made at brief stage, not discovered at delivery.
Designing past the minimum. Every distinct model carries its own 50-piece minimum. Four bespoke variants is a 200-piece commitment, not a 50-piece one.
Treating a brand mark as decoration. If a motif is your logo, specify it as one, so it stays identical across future orders rather than being re-interpreted each run.
